Another Leeds pub that has sadly fallen by the wayside and is now converted into dwellings. The benefit of this being that the character of the building's exterior has been retained. The pub, dating from c1857, has a colourful history and it was rumoured at one point that there was a tunnel linking the basement of the pub to the Parish church. This would enable the priests to indulge in a little unsavoury activity with the local ladies of the night, bearing in mind that Mabgate was once a thriving red light area.....
