Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park (Hyderabad)

The park provides an excellent open space and an oasis away from the busy city life and rising pollution levels. The park has over 600 species of plant life, 140 species of birds and 30 different varieties of butterflies and reptiles. Some of the animals making their home in the park include: pangolin, small Indian civet, peacock, jungle cat and porcupines. There are few water bodies present in the park providing the needed moisture for the plants and quenching the thirst of birds and small animals. Originally owned by HRH the Nizam who sold it to the AP Government. Best visited in the mornings at 5:30. There are 2 paths.

1:Outer path is around 6 KM, has no entrance fee. But, is not even and has lot of uphills and downhills. People with back problems may have difficulty in treading this path.

2:Inner path is 4.7 KM long. This has only one entrance. They charge Rs.5/- per person. This path has a scenic beauty with the calmness of nature. You can hear the calls of peacocks and chirping of birds in the early mornings. They do not allow pets.

At the centre : of the Park is old Chiran palace of Nizam.
