mining, interesting place, ghost town
The ghost town of Rausch Gap was the largest of several coal mining towns in St Anthony's Wilderness that appeared, flourished, and died during the period between 1830 and 1910. All that remains today are the stone foundations of buildings and a small cemetery. Nature has taken back the land: a quick glance at the area and you would never know that it once flourished with people and industry.
