The Race Palace is an off track betting facility operated by Nassau Downs OTB. The building, built c. 1963, has served a number of purposes, including as a nightclub and was, for many years, a catering hall, "Galaxy Caterers".

  • I want a photo)preferably color) of the old "Galaxy Caterers" signs that were originally here. That was a fine example of "Popluxe"-type architecture.
  • i beleive this was also the location of the vanderbilt, which was a concert and event location
  • You are correct NYCEMT. It was indeed the Vanderbilt for quite some time. It was also the site where a biker was killed in a war between the Hells Angels and the Pagans back in 2002.
