S-8 Dam and Pumping Station

Pumping Station 8 is on the Miami Canal (C-6) River in Broward County and is used for flood control purposes. Construction was completed in 1962, and is operated by the South Florida Water Management District. Its length is 640 feet. Maximum discharge is 500 cubic feet per second. Its capacity is 2,726,900 acre feet. Normal storage is 840,000 acre feet.
