Waseca is a city in Woodville Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. The population was 9,410 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Waseca County.

Waseca was platted in 1867 on the line of the Winona and St. Peter Railroad. It incorporated as a village in 1868, and as a city in 1881. It succeeded Wilton as the county seat in 1870. The post office began as Woodville in 1864 and was changed to Waseca in 1867.
