This plant was built in 1970 for American Cyanamid (Shulton division, where it manufactured Breck shampoo and other products) and was purchased in 1981 by Southern Oil of California (Chevron), converting the plant to making liquid lawn and garden care products (like Ortho and Greensweep). The Ortho division was sold to Monsanto in 1993 along with the plant, and in 1999, was sold again to Scotts Miracle-Gro, where it still produces Ortho, Greensweep, RoundUp (under contract from Monsanto), and Miracle-Gro, constituting 95% of the company's production of liquid lawn & garden care products.
