- Notes: "La Hacienda" was constructed as a summer home for John L. Jerome. Jerome arrived in Central City in 1873 to serve as principal of the high school. He later moved to Denver, passed the bar, and practiced law from 1878 to 1893. He then joined with a client, John C. Osgood, in the formation of Colorado Fuel and Iron Company, one of Colorado’s first major industrial corporations.
