Jackson is a city in sections 23-26 of Des Moines Township, Jackson County, Minnesota. The population was 3,299 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Jackson County.
The townsite was originally founded and named Springfield in 1856, changing to Jackson in 1857. It was platted in 1866 and incorporated in 1881.
Jackson was served by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad from 1878 until 1985.
