Designed c. 1929 in the Norman style by Bernhardt E. Muller who designed several churches for the First Church of Christ, Scientist and was built by John B. Roberts & Co. The exterior is composed of clinker brick, fieldstone and Vermont slate which was purposely aged. Sections of the exterior are made to look like the walls had crumbled to reveal the ancient stone. Many of the original window panes exist, which are tinted and bubbled to resemble old glass. The interior timbers are rough hewn, and stained to resemble old beams; one of which was made from a tree on the property at the time of construction.
Since a central tenet of the Christian Science Church is studying, a reading room was incorporated into the tower of the structure. There are two entrances; the main entrance leads into the auditorium where there are three committee rooms above. Behind the auditorium are two Gothic arches which were originally classrooms, and now provide additional auditorium space. The second entrance includes a foyer with rest rooms. Connected to this foyer, on the west side of the original structure, since 1952, is used as the Sunday School room.
