Notes: Typical of neighborhood groceries, this former store played a vital role in the commercial development of the Town of Swansea. Andrew and Hannah Bats were the original owners and ran the store until 1935. From 1942 until 1951 the store was run by Edward and Grace Whalen and was named the Whalen’s Super Market.
