Mission Chapel Ruins at the Hopi Indian Village of Old Oraibi, Arizona. Standing on the third mesa and built in 1901, it was destroyed by lighting in 1942. Because of the cause of its destruction, the Hopis will not approach it or use the stones in their own houses. An earlier mission, built by the Spaniards around 1629 was demolished by the Indians in 1680.
