Historic cattle ranch listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as a historic district. The district covers some 2,560 acres and represents the types of business enterprises some of the earliest white settlers in this region engaged in. In addition to cattle ranching, James A. Walker also leased parts of his ranch to other businessmen, who ran operations such as lumber mills and gold mines. In this way, Walker was able to defray his debt more quickly. The ranch was founded in the 1860s and still contains clusters of ranch buildings that date to the earliest days of the operation.
