The four storey building was erected in 1916 to replace an older building destroyed by fire. First occupied by Compton's department store, it was later known as the Arcade Building. From 1944 to 1965 it was home to Eaton's. The upper three floors of the building contain 36 apartment units. The entire property was renovated in 2015.
