Her titles included Sakina, Masoomah, Aatika, Kulsūm, and Zaynab. She was only 4 years of age during the battle of Karbala. After the battle of Karbala Bibi Saiyyada Sakina (S.A.) was also held captive along with other household (Family Members) of Hazrat Imam Husain (A.S.) and was taken to Kufa then to Damascus. In those days, it used to take 32 days, on a camel, to reach Damascus, but the family members of Hazrat Imam Husain (A.S.) were dragged in such a way that it only took them 16 days to reach Damascus. After they reached Damascus the family members of Hazrat Imam Husain (A.S.) were imprisoned and Bibi Saiyyada Sakina (S.A.) was kept in the dungeon (A very horrifying and dark room). Where she died on 10th Safar, 61 A.H. (8th November, 680 A.D.).

Bibi Saiyyada Sakina's (S.A.) clothes were burnt in Karbala, and due to injuries, the clothes were intermingled with her flesh. Therefore, after her tragic death (Martyrdom) she was buried in the same burnt, ripped clothes in the dungeon of Syria.
