archaeological site, earthwork (archaeology), promontory fort
A promontory fort (with evidence of several earthworks) occupying the little peninsula formed at the confluence of the Camoge river and another stream flowing in from the south. The site was in close association with the large barrow or rath across the Camoge to the northeast, and has also been proposed as the location of ancient Rath Aine.
