The Antwerp Hessenhuis is a Renaissance building, completed in 1564. In the 16th century it was just like the Hanseatic or Oriental House through town founded at the request of the German merchants. Today it is a museum and exhibition space.
In 1936 the Hessenhuis, including large parts of the interior and the metal reinforcement construction from the 19th century, became protected architectural heritage.
