The Deeps shaft is part of the Black Mountain Mine which is owned by Vendata Zinc with 84% and Exxaro Resources with 26%. It mainly produces copper, lead and zinc, with silver as a by-product and annual production is on the order of 102ktpa of zinc-equivalent metal-in-concentrate. Production at Deeps is currently scheduled to cease in around 2020.
