Currently known as Pleasantville, this area of St. John's was once an American Military Base, Fort Pepperrell (1941-1960). The Canadian Armed forces still uses many of the old base buildings for CFS St. John's, while the remainder have been converted to apartments or used by provincial and Canadian Governments for office space and storage.
