Batu Kumbang is the name of a peak given by the locals. It is not an official name. In RSO map, the name is absent but bears the altitude of 675 metres. Batu Kumbang is part of Hulu Langat Forest Reserve. Bukit Chenuang is the most prominent peak that is right across Batu Kumbang, more precisely Northeast of Batu Kumbang. The furthest range of mountain behind Bukit Chenuang is the Nuang range located along the Selangor-Pahang state border.

There are two trails leading to this peak - one from Sungai Congkak and the other from Kemensah; the latter being the further route of about 9 km over undulating terrain.
