The cathedral of Lacedonia is dedicated to Saint Mary (Santa Maria Assunta). The present structure was built in 1689-1709, after the earlier cathedral was damaged by an earthquake. Since 1986, it is a co-cathedral for the Diocese of Ariano Irpino-Lacedonia.
