Also known as the Eagle and Last Chance. Part of a boom on Mount Gleason when it was rumored to be the source of the Mother Lode, it was active into the 1930s. A mining claim was filed in 1892 by lawyer named Robert Henry Fauntleroy Variel, who was elected as the District Attorney of Plumas County in 1873.
