Possible historical location of village of Stankevich. Here lived Jewish family of Bielski. During Nazi occupation in WWII Bielski brothers organized here Jewish resistance organization - Bielski partisans. Under their protection, 1,236 Jews survived the war, making it one of many remarkable rescue missions in the Holocaust.
