Mithileshwor Mauwahi VDC, named referring the name of God Mithileshwar Nath Mahadev (one of the several names of Lord Shiv). Presently this VDC has been included in Mithila Bihari gaunpalika in Federal Nepal as ward No.-3 of the gaunpalika. The village is highly rich in political, cultural and social aspects. It is also birthplace of Mr. Anil Mandal, a national Cricket Player of Nepal. A Non Governmental Organization, Mithila Wildlife Trust which is the only organization working towards conservation of wildlife in grass root level is also registered in this village under chairmanship of Mr. Dev Narayan Mandal who is also a renowned person active in snake conservation and human-snake conflict mitigation.
It also holds good position in political aspects having national level political leaders like Raghuvir Mahaseth from NCP, Ram Chandra Mandal from UML and Ram Paltan Sah from Nepali Congress Party.
A renowned Maithili artist cum poet Binit Thakur has also born in the village.
