Wandle Park occupies approximately 11 acres and is situated on the site of a former millpond; the River Wandle forms the boundary of the park. Formerly the site of Wandle Park House, built about 1791 for Scots journalist James Perry, editor and owner of the “Morning Chronicle", the most successful London newspaper in Georgian times.
