The Edmonton Exposition and Conference Centre is a multi-purpose arena/conference centre which variously hosts sports and music events, trade shows, and conferences and is located at Northlands in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, adjacent to Rexall Place. It is owned and operated by the Northlands not-for-profit group.
The facility was first built in 1984 on the site of the Edmonton Gardens. Prior to 2009, it was named the Northlands Agricom. It has 8 exhibition halls, six ballrooms, thirteen meeting rooms and boardrooms, a lounge, and several smaller galleries within the building. One of the Halls (Hall D) can be reconfigured into a 5,527-seat arena. Hall D from 1996 to 1998 was the home of the WHL's Edmonton Ice.
A major expansion was completed in December 2009, adding over 200,000 sq ft (19,000 m2) to the original complex, including four new exhibition halls. The total is now 522,000 sq ft (48,500 m2), making it the largest convention and exhibition centre in Canada outside of Toronto. The Alberta government contributed $50,000,000 to the project which led to the decision to name the 13,000-square-foot (1,200 m2) ballroom "Alberta Ballroom". The Canadian federal government meanwhile contributed an additional $25,000,000.
