Grulla National Wildlife Refuge, located in Eastern New Mexico on the the Texas - New Mexico border, primarily consists of an intermittent salt lake known locally as the DZ Lake. It provides habitat to Sandhill Crane and other birds when it contains water. The word Grulla is Spanish for crane.
