Cooley High School was constructed in 1927 to a design by Donaldson & Meier with decorative elements by the Federal Seaboard Terra Cotta Co. The school closed in 2010. Noted Alumni include NBA players Roy Tarpley and Michael Talley, legendary Teamsters Boss Jimmy Hoffa and Little Ceasars Pizza founder and Tigers and Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch.
