Consists of St. Mary's Preparatory High School, SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary, and a satellite campus (formerly St. Mary's College) of Madonna University.

Former site of the Michigan Military Academy. One former graduate: Edgar Rice Burroughs 1895 graduate. The Academy went bankrupt in 1908, and the Seminary moved from its original location in the city of Detroit the next year.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as the "Orchard Lake Schools Historic District".

The St. Mary's Eaglets football, soccer, and lacrosse teams play on a red FieldTurf field.
