Opened as satellite airfield for 21 OTU (Moreton-in-Marsh) on 15 Sep 1942.

Wellington bombers were the main aircraft to use the airfield (although some use by Martinets and Tomahawks).

Wartime flying ceased in Nov 1945, but 17 FTS detachment of Harvards & Oxfords remained until 17 Dec 1946.

Airfield now in use by local flying clubs and small industry.
