  As fAr as the name of this village is concerned, it was bassically a man living in another village known as Ganpora. this ambitious man depoted one of his sons to the area presently known as AGLAR. He gave him this piece in place of the traditional silver pice, which was given at the time of marriege or after marriege. So from this very time it was known as Akhlad (Kashmiri word), meaning one side or one piece. since that time it was bieng modified by genrations after generations and that is why it presently known as AGLAR.
