Modern architecture designed by David Salmela, AIA. Built in 2008, this substantial, 4,000 square foot cabin complex where, in addition to the main house, there are four obscure, coal-black boxes: three garages and a workshop. The workshop steps out of line with its partners, opening a narrow passage to an inner courtyard and the house. The house sits on a 16 acre site amongst a tall, dense beech forest. Client is Douglas R. Yingst, Ph.D., associate professor emeritus of Wayne State University.
