Cerro El Ávila (or Waraira Repano, from an indigenous name for the area) is a mountain in the mid-north of Venezuela. The mountain rises next to the capital Caracas and separates the city from the Caribbean Sea. It is a National Park.
It ranges from the Caribbean coast to the mountainous outskirts of Caracas. By Decree No. 7388 of the National Executive through which officially granted the name of the National Park Waraira Repano to the extension that includes the Avila National Park dated Friday, May 7, 2010.
