Former Bank "Khreshchatyk"
On the site of the building where the bank "Khreshchatyk" is now, there was a house in which the famous Kyiv hotel "England" was located. It is rumored that the hotel in the center of Kyiv with furnished rooms was very popular with visitors. Here even the writer Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi stopped.
In 1913, the land together with the house was sold to the St. Petersburg International Commercial Bank. Businessmen decided to demolish the building and build a new one ... So a modern building appeared. Almost always there were banks in it. It was only in Soviet times that they opened the labor school for a short while, but in the sixties they again began using the premises for a bank.
