David Geffen purchased the 9.38 acre former Jack L. Warner (of Warner Bros.) estate on Angelo Drive in Beverly Hills in 1990 for a reported $47.5 million dollars-at the time, the highest price ever paid for a private home in the United States. Reports say another $45,000,000 was spent renovating the property, including $20,000,000 on landscaping alone.
Built from 1926 to 1937, the Neoclassical mansion was designed by architect Roland E. Coate with interiors by William Haines and grounds by Florence Yoch.
