The longstanding Flatiron Bar + Diner departed the Columbus dining scene in late 2018, but less than a year later a new Flatiron has taken up the reigns at the iconic building.

Flatiron Tavern is now open at 129 E. Nationwide Blvd. While part of the name has stuck around, the space is under new ownership and sports a new menu.

The team behind City Tavern, as well as bars Ledo’s Tavern and Park Street Tavern, is now in charge of the space. With the exception of a few crossover items, Flatiron Tavern will have a totally different menu than its City counterpart, with eats largely focused on build-you-own Phillys.

Operations Manager Rachel Frye says the menu will continue to evolve, but they’re zoned in on familiar eats done well. In addition to cheesesteaks, Flatiron Tavern offers up appetizers like pickled eggs, spinach and artichoke dip and three different riffs on fries, as well as salads and sandwiches like the portabella reuben and twice-grilled cheese. Frye adds they might also play with some takes on previous Flatiron classics that customers keep asking about.
