  Model Colony was the first cooperative housing society on the North of Fergusson College Road. The name nowadays is loosely applied to the area around that society, right upto main roads on all four sides - principally because the area is served by the post office located withi the Model Colony and bears the PIN 411016. It remains the most well-preserved residential area with its own water body and bio-diversity park and an awareness-cum-betterment pressure group in Pune.
