Just months after Fort Wayne lost a downtown ice cream shop, another is set to open next month.

Owners Krista and Eric Hall secured the former location of ice cream shop Yummi Bunni at 123 Main Street downtown to open a new ice cream establishment appropriately named “Sweets on Main.”

Yummi Bunni closed its doors for good in August.

The pair said they want to be part of downtown Fort Wayne’s revitalization and are excited to be near Promenade Park.

The new ice cream parlor will serve up had-scooped Ashby’s ice cream, giant brownie and cookie sundaes, cold brews, floats and other baked goodies.

They said they are hoping to open on Nov. 27, which is the same night the Fort Wayne famous “Santa and His Reindeer” will be illuminated at the PNC building at Main and Berry.

The owners said they are not affiliated with the former Yummi Bunni establishment.
