Dhyan Mandir (Thane)

This is a beautiful construction right in the middle of Masunda lake.
THANE is an ancient city previously named as "SHREE STHANAK". There was an ancient Temple - may be a Shiva Temple in this place. When this lake was drained out a few years ago, presence of this ancient temple was revealed by existence of stone blocks supports of wooden pillars. The old temple was having a north entry with steps leading to main temple. Period of this temple was not estimated by TMC or Archiological dept.
It is logical to have very ancient temple here as many archifacts are repoted found in the area in north of this temple i.e. CHERAI area next to St John the Baptist School of today. == M N Mhatre
