lookout tower, historic ruins
To fight against the plunder of the Corsican coast by the pirates of North Africa, the Genoese governors established in the XVIth century a monitoring system by building these famous towers which always decorate the coast of the island.
This one dominates the handle of Sagone and its beach, the tower of Capigliolo and its small fort, tower of Ancone and Capu di Fenu's point. Guardiola outside, collapsed fireplace, stay of machicolations. A hole on the front reminds the cut of Corsica.
