Lipa Cave is one of the largest cave monuments in Montenegro. The cave, with its beautiful and wild system of 2.5 km of passages and halls is a place you must visit on your Montenegro tour. Its beauty was recognized by King Nikola I and Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, who played a very important role in the Montenegrin history. Lipa cave was known to exist prior to Njegoss’ time, and even than cave expeditions were possible. Various recognized explorers from 19th century left written documents on cave formations and its existence, explorations continued in 20th and 21st century.

Temperature in the cave is always between 8-12 degrees. Bring a light jacket, or rent a poncho in the ticket office (where they also have a small cefe and toilets). Except the simple walkig tours, there are also "adventure tours" of varied difficulty (but still allowed even for children, 8 y.o. and older), for these, the office issues rubber boots, raincoats and helmets with head-torches. There are just several guided tours every day, with tourists taken to the cave by a car-train, and it is not possible to visit the cave without a guide, so check the timetable ahead.

There is a bar in the cave, and one can drink some rakija, wine or juice after a tour.
