Liberty Broadcasting Network was incorporated in 1958 primarily to engage in the business of constructing, erecting, establishing, maintaining, servicing and operating radio broadcasting stations and radio stations for television in the Philippines. Liberty Broadcasting also holds a congressional franchise under Republic Act No. 1553 approved on June 16, 1956, amended by Republic Act No. 4154 dated June 20, 1964. The franchise, which is valid until 2014, grants LBNI the right to construct, maintain and operate radio broadcasting stations, stations for television in the Philippines and radio stations for international and domestic communications of all types and services.
It has also secured from the National Telecommunications Commission, Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity CPCN, to offer and operate various communication services.
