It serves as a memorial to Durell “Bronko” Pearsall (P’ 92) who was lost in the September 11th, 2001 attacks. Friend of LIU and Rescue 2 head Liam Flaherty was able to acquire a six-foot piece of steel recovered from the Twin Towers building which was placed on the site.
