Serving as the president’s residence since June 2001, the Carter House, as it is known, was donated to Butler by the Carter family of Carter Lee Lumber. The 3,500-square-foot Cotswold Cottage-style home, built in 1932, includes two stories and a basement, and was renovated in 2001 to add more entertainment space for campus functions. Carter House is currently home to Butler’s 21st president, James Danko, and family.
