an end point for a new double circuit 240kV
transmission line called the South Foothills Transmission Project (SFTP). This transmission line will run
from the Fort Macleod area into south Calgary. The Foothills substation will ultimately link the SFTP with
new 240kV developments in southeast and southwest Calgary and with the138 kV development in
Okotoks, allowing generation in southern Alberta to flow to this area.
