The Wilsonville General Store is a landmark location in this area. It is owned by Vossey Horton, long-time resident of the area, having come from a family of shopkeepers in the New Hope Valley for many years. At one time, the Horton family owned the A. H. Horton General Store in Beaver Creek, NC some seven miles south of this location. That store and the former Town of Beaver Creek are now impounded beneath the waters of Jordan Lake.
