Ezzell's Time Capsule

The memorial is buried beneath the highway at this point. Before construction of this bridge approach was completed, worker Eugene W. Ezzell, Jr. prepared a personal time capsule, and buried it in the roadbed. The capsule was subsequently covered by the highway, and remains there to this day, awaiting discovery by some future archaeologist.
