The Department of Chinese Language and Literature is one of the pioneer departments in New Era College. It was established in 1998.

Apart from nurturing proficient Chinese language teachers and academic researchers for the community, the department also takes upon itself the responsibility to cultivating a humanistic perspective and carry on the fine tradition.

Our teaching focuses not only on theories, explanations and analyses, we also place great emphasis on inspiring ideas and developing independent thinking skills and acquiring practical experiences. In addition, we encourage creativity and the pursuit of knowledge.
