US-SDF Military pontoon ferry and docks

Syria / Hhalab / Manbij /
 pontoon bridge, pontoon pier

Pontoon ferry with 2 floatable docks on both sides of the river.
The SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) and US special forces build this pontoon boat crossing with floatable docks on June 1, 2016.
It was build to support the operation to liberate Manbij/Membic area.
This after Daesh positions west of the Euphrates where taken over by the SDF and a SDF beachhead was established on the other side of the Eufrates.

Comments

  • No floatable docks, no pontoon boats. SDF made crushed rock landings to the river and is using regular flat-bottom river barges with ramps to move vehicles across. Pictures show landing on the Manbij side just below the bend in the bridge approach.
  • Pictures and video's showing clearly loating iron docks/piers build on both sides of the river, with a barge ferrying between them. They used crushed rocks to fill up the short collapsed part of the bridge on the Kobani side, but the larger collapsed part of the bridge on Manbij side is not possible to fill with rocks due to strong and deep river current.
  • What? Got any links for that? I posted clear ANF video grabs showing how this was being done - at least on the Manbij side. There are more from a different source - AHNA - showing the exact same thing. I'm not there - I'll believe what you say if you have pictures. All I have seen about pontoons and floating docks was speculation on social media - no pictures or other evidence. I don't care either way - I'm glad they got across and wish them luck. I hope the locals are able to use the bridge again as soon as possible.
  • On this video you can see a floatable dock/pier at the river side and a barge schipping cars between them: https://www.facebook.com/465368003646767/videos/518575284992705/
