250 acres

As the second largest park in Lynchburg, Peaks View Park has a lot to offer the community. With gently rolling hills leading down to the level areas near Ivy Creek, Peaks View Park offers both passive and active recreation.

To get to Peaks View Park, look for one of two main entrances; one is at the intersection of Ardmore Drive and Tenbury Drive, the other is at Ivy Creek Lane off of Wiggington Road.

The park has three lighted tennis courts, seven multi-purpose fields (soccer, football, softball, baseball,) volleyball courts, a basketball court, mountain bike trails and a disc golf course. Disc golf is a popular pastime for visitors; the course can be accessed at both the Ardmore and Tenbury Drive and Ivy Creek Lane entrances. Also found near the Ivy Creek Lane entrance is a small pond and the Ivy Creek Interpretive Loop Trail, a self-guided nature walk through a wooded section of the park. The pond is a great place to watch for red-winged blackbirds or observe tadpoles and frogs; from the pond it is just a short walk to the Ivy Creek trail.

Walking trails wind through the park, while an exercise/jogging course runs parallel to Ivy Creek which flows through the center of the park. The popular exercise course is not a loop trail, but can be accessed from either entrance to the park.

Mountain Bike Trails are found near the Ardmore Drive and Tenbury Drive entrance; volunteers from the Central Virginia Mountain Bike Association help to plan, maintain and improve the trails. Trails are suitable for beginner, intermediate and expert riders, so be sure to choose a trail appropriate for your skill level.

There are two picnic shelters at Peaks View Park; one small and one large. Playground areas are located ..
